Privacy Policy

Your Personal Information:

The information that Nepean Options collects will be used to help clients get the services they need. The information that is given is protected by law and the Policies and Procedures of Nepean Options.

Personal information will be kept safe at all times and only be shared with people the client has agreed it can be shared with.

The Department of Ageing Disability and Homecare (DADHC) funds Nepean Options and they require information to be collected about the people who use the service.

DADHC does not give information about Nepean Options clients to anyone else.

What information is given to DADHC?

All of the information that is given in the application form will be given to DADHC except the clients name and address. However people can choose not to give this information to DADHC.

DADHC also require information about:

  • when someone started in the service
  • how many hours of service each person receives each week
  • who was at the service on the day the data was collected
  • the date someone leaves the service
  • why someone left the service

A special code is used to protect Nepean Options clients so that no one can tell what their name is.

The information about Nepean Options clients is given to DADHC four times a year.

All organisations, like Nepean Options and DADHC, must obey very strict rules about how they collect and use information. These rules are called “Information Privacy Principles” and are contained in the Privacy Act 1988.
